Outokumpu’s Code of Conduct revised – All personnel to be trained
Outokumpu has revised its Code of Conduct to conform with the new Ways of Working, launched in connection with the new strategy in November 2020. Outokumpu’s Ethical Principles are also now incorporated in their entirety in the revised Code of Conduct. Additionally, the Code of Conduct has been reviewed in light of various international declarations and principles, such as UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
“The common Code of Conduct ensures that we serve our customers, improve our competences and work towards our vision – to be the customer’s first choice in sustainable stainless steel in a responsible and ethical way. That is the foundation of our success,” says President and CEO Heikki Malinen.
The revised Code of Conduct will be implemented by giving training to Outokumpu’s approximately 9,000 employees, by supervisory work as well as through comprehensive internal communications. Outokumpu expects all its suppliers and entire supply chain to follow its Code of Conduct.
“This will ensure a strong backbone for knowing what is the right thing to do for employees working in various cultures and it will build trust among our customers, shareholders and other stakeholders,” says Heikki Malinen.
