Nicola Latouf
As a process operator at KBR L76, I play a crucial role in quality control and maintenance of our production lines. My main tasks include inspecting materials to detect any surface defects before they proceed in the production process or are sent to customers. I am also responsible for cutting plates and samples, operating cranes and forklifts. The tasks may vary depending on whether the production line is running or not. If it's not in operation, I work with colleagues to troubleshoot issues or perform maintenance work, such as cleaning, to ensure our machines are functioning optimally.
I am studying to become a Civil Engineer in Computer Engineering and will start year two at Örebro University. It's my third summer here at Outokumpu.
My primary goal with this employment is to gain experience in the industrial sector that I can benefit from later in my life. Additionally, it serves as an excellent occupation during my study breaks.
One of the most rewarding aspects of working at Outokumpu is the opportunity to interact with my wonderful colleagues daily and learn from their experiences. Every day brings new learning, making my job both challenging and enriching.

I am studying to become a Civil Engineer in Industrial Economy at Mälardalen University, and I will be starting my third year this fall. It's my first summer at Outokumpu.
My main goals with this employment are to gain insight into an interesting company like Outokumpu and apply the knowledge to my education. Additionally, it would be great to have future summer jobs here and potentially conduct my thesis work here.
The best thing about working at Outokumpu during the summer is that it's a rewarding job, and I am constantly learning new things, as well as all my colleagues who are extremely friendly and helpful.

I am currently working in the ladle preparation department at the Meltshop. My main responsibilities include handling and assembling ladles for casting, as well as being in charge of the ladles after casting and tapping. This involves transporting the ladles after the converter tapping process and preparing them for further treatment when they return from the casting process.
Currently, I am studying to become a Civil Engineer at KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) and have completed two out of five years in my program. This is the first time I am working at Outokumpu.
My main goals with this employment are to promote continuous personal development by expanding my knowledge and applying experiences to solidify the theoretical concepts in practice. Additionally, I aim to gain a deeper understanding of how a Civil Engineer can contribute to and benefit Outokumpu as a workplace.
Working at Outokumpu involves varied tasks and collaboration with great colleagues. Sustainability is an important part of the company, and the safety and health of employees are prioritized. Work teams consistently improve the working environment, and the company is constantly striving for development. Outokumpu is a versatile workplace that values the well-being of employees, the environment, and production.

I work in the Maintenance Department at the Hot Rolling Mill. During the summer my tasks have been varied, and I have performed both preventive maintenance and delved into different machines and their spare parts.
Currently, I am in the middle of my education to become a Civil Engineer in Mechanical Engineering at KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) in Stockholm. This is my first summer working as an employee of Outokumpu, but I have previously worked as a summer employee for a contractor within the area.
My main goal with this employment is to learn as much as possible about hot rolling and the machines used in production. Perhaps it could be a first step towards a future job within Outokumpu.
The best part of working at Outokumpu is being a part of a team that works together to develop. Everyone has been very open and welcoming, and it didn't take long to feel like a part of the group. Moreover, it is incredibly educational. Working practically and theoretically with the machines and all the people who use them on a daily basis provides an understanding of the industry that is hard to achieve in the classroom.
